Midterm Challenge - Group projects

The requirement is to build an interactive project that uses a physical sensor (distance, light, temperature, bend, touch, force, etc.) to control a server motor in real time. Meanwhile, the movement of the system is MEANINGFUL or related to our everyday experience.

Group 1:A haunted drawer
The idea is to use a touch sensor to open/close a drawer. When the drawer is opened, a haunted sound will be played as well.
Members:
    Nguyen, Phong
    Skrobutt, Matthew

Members:
    Hagopian, Edward
    Ladha, Karim

Group 3: Go! Sailing
The idea is to use a common PC microphone to control the movement of a sailboat in water.

Mission

ITGM440 - physical computing, it is a new class in winter 2007 from SCAD, Interactive Design and Game Development. This class is taught by ITGM professor, Clara Diana. This course explores nontraditional input devices to create interactive user experiences. Students develop concepts, experiments and prototypes for self-contained interactive objects in immersive environments. The purpose of this photo blog is to snapshot the progress of each class. From the photos, you will find how the students develop their concepts, proceed to prototyping and produce their class projects.

Feel free to give us your feedback and enjoy the photos.
